Compacting asphalt plate compactor DIY
In road construction, long stretches of asphalt compacted with heavy equipment. For smaller, such as filling potholes and resurfacing roads, asphalt works generally compacted with a machine called a compactor plate or a hand tool called sabotage. Asphalt is compacted to force the aggregate in paving material closer together and flatten the surface. Plate compactors have for use in asphalt compaction plate’s ductile iron.
- Pala asphalt on the surface to prepare. Place the compressor plate at one end of the asphalt without compacting. Fill the water tank if the plate compactor is equipped with a water tank.
- Unlock the handle plate compactor according to the instructions of your compressor. This is usually done by pulling a pin. Lower handle to a comfortable position and lock the handle.
- Start the engine according to the instructions of the compressor. Plate compactors most have a gasoline engine that starts with a cord, similar to a lawnmower engine. Allow the engine to run at low speed for 5 minutes.
- Open the throttle fully compactor according to the instructions for your compressor. Open the throttle will cause the vibrating compactor.
- Check the direction of the compactor, but allow the machine to move their own. Steer the machine by pushing the handle to the right to go left and push left to go right.
- Turn off the compressor, as directed, when the area is fully compacted.
